Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, President Jair Bolsonaro’s eldest son, has tested positive for Covid-19, according to his press office. His staff said Mr. Bolsonaro is “feeling well” and is currently isolating, also reporting that he has been taking chloroquine and azithromycin since Monday. President Bolsonaro has been a persistent advocate for the use of hydroxychloroquine, despite a lack of evidence that it is effective against Covid-19.
Flávio is the fourth member of the Bolsonaro family to be infected with the virus. President Jair Bolsonaro and First Lady Michelle both recovered from bouts of Covid-19, as did the president’s youngest son, 22-year-old Jair Renan.
