The São Paulo state government has launched IdeiaGov, a new initiative to fund and support companies, startups, and researchers from all over Brazil who are trying to come up with solutions for the public health system amid the Covid-19 crisis.
Applications may be sent until August 10 for two categories: Government Challenges — which will initially focus on diagnostic tests that are accessible to the health system and may be reproduced on a large scale — and Technological Market Offers, which includes any Covid-19-related product, service, or healthcare process.
Applicants will have access to support from the technical teams from Hospital das Clínicas — one of the largest public facilities in Brazil — the Institute of Technological Research (IPT), and Prodesp, the state-owned data processing company. The winners shall have access to credit lines and may have their solutions purchased by the state government.
