The Brazilian lower house has just passed a BRL 3-billion aid package, informally known as the Aldir Blanc Act, in honor of the famous Rio de Janeiro songwriter who recently died from Covid-19. The bill now moves to the Senate.

The proposal foresees aid of BRL 600 for culture professionals for three months, a monthly BRL 10,000 grant for cultural spaces that have been closed due to social isolation measures, and funds to foster cultural activities that may be broadcasted online.
