One day after registering over 1,000 Covid-19 deaths in just 24 hours, Brazil recorded another 888 new casualties. There were also 19,951 cases registered over the same period. The total tally is:
- 291,579 cases;
- 18,859 deaths.
As we have frequently pointed out, it is important to stress that the official numbers are much lower than any estimate by researchers. According to some studies, Brazil’s real number of infections is close to 4 million. We showed in today’s Daily Briefing that Brazil is the only country among the top 8 with most infections in the world with an ascending infection curve.
