Gol airlines announced its intentions to resume flights in June at a maximum of 100 trips each day, against just 68 planned in May. While it represents a gradual recovery of the routes, it remains 87 percent below Gol’s full capacity.

In a conference call with Rio de Janeiro Governor Wilson Witzel, Gol management reportedly plans to increase the offer of connections between Rio’s Galeão Airport and Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo from three flights a day to ten, as of May 24.

However, the majority of flights will resume from June 10 onwards. Galeão Airport will have flights to Aracaju, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, and Vitória. Guarulhos will be connected to Chapecó, Ilheús, Porto Seguro, Juazeiro do Norte, and Petrolina. Operations are also set to resume in São Paulo’s Congonhas Airport, sending flights to Florianópolis, Navegantes, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, and Porto Alegre.
