The Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport, in Brasília, will implement a new body-heat sensor system for domestic departures this week, reports news website G1. The equipment measures the temperature of 30 people at a time, identifies those wearing masks, and can differentiate normal body temperature from other sources of heat, such as food or hot beverages.

According to the report, if the system identifies a passenger whose body temperature is above 37ºC, the airport teams will carry out a second temperature reading using a thermometer. If the passenger has a fever, he/she will receive a mask, gloves and shall be redirected to the airport’s medical area.
