According to a recent opinion poll carried out by the National Transport Confederation (CNT), President Jair Bolsonaro’s rejection ratings have jumped over 10 percentage points since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Results showed that 43.4 percent of respondents classified Mr. Bolsonaro’s government as bad or terrible, up from just 31 percent in January, before the coronavirus outbreak. Meanwhile, his approval ratings fell just outside the margin of error, dropping from 35 to 32 percent.

While these results must be taken with a pinch of salt due to the considerable time in between polls, they help corroborate the conclusions of other pollsters, which have shown Mr. Bolsonaro’s popularity falling due to his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.
