Newly-appointed Health Minister Nelson Teich represented the Brazilian government today in a video conference between G20 countries. He said he is worried about the amount of false or misleading information around the coronavirus — and said countries must find ways to get accurate facts and data to the population.

Interestingly enough, his boss, President Jair Bolsonaro, has been one of the biggest vectors of misinformation during the pandemic. According to fact-checking agency Aos Fatos, Mr. Bolsonaro has made at least 159 false or distorted statements about the coronavirus outbreak in Brazil.
