China request official retraction after racist comments by Education Minister

China’s ambassador to Brazil Yang Wanming said the Chinese government demands an official retraction statement from the Brazilian government after Education Minister Abraham Weintraub published racist, Sinophobic comments on Twitter. “We are aware that our people are on the same side in resisting racist words and safeguarding our friendship,” Mr. Wanming tweeted. During the weekend, Mr. Weintraub blamed China for the outbreak, suggesting it would be a move to make the Asian giant an ever stronger power.
