New data from the Health Ministry raised the number of 3,904 confirmed Covid-19 cases — the death toll reached 111 as of March 28 afternoon.
The number of infections grew by 487 between Friday and Saturday, the second-highest daily bump since Brazil reported the first Covid-19 case. So far, the fatality rate is at 2.8 percent, according to government data.
In absolute numbers, São Paulo remains the worst-affected state of the country — and concentrates 16 of the 19 deaths reported on the day. Fatalities within the state amount to 84.
