Brazil’s Embraer receives order for five aircraft

Brazilian planemaker Embraer announced on Wednesday that it received a new order for five E195-E2 commercial aircraft from an unnamed company. The USD 389.4 million contract will be included in Embraer’s Q4 2022 backlog.

The secret client has “exciting new plans for future growth,” according to a statement by Embraer. The planemaker will deliver four of the aircraft by the end of 2023, and the fifth one in 2024.

In its Q3 results released earlier in November, Embraer said it had delivered 27 commercial jets and 52 executive jets year-to-date — of which 10 commercial jets and 23 executive aircraft in Q3 alone. Firm order backlog in Q3 was USD 17.8 billion, unchanged from Q2 and up 6 percent on Q3 2021.
