Vaccine rollout stalls quicker among young adults in Brazil

Almost 71 percent of Brazilian young adults aged 18 to 29 are fully immunized, and the vaccine rollout within this age bracket has decelerated quicker than other demographics. 

Vaccination rates among people aged 30 to 59 began stabilizing after they had reached 83 percent. Among senior citizens, the curve began flattening when 96 percent of citizens eligible for immunization had already taken their shots. 

The main issue with the slowing rate of fully vaccinated young adults is due to the fact that many have skipped their second dose. So far, 89 percent of the group has taken at least one shot. Around 6 million of them, or 15 percent of the total young adult population, have missed appointments to take a second jab.
