Brazil ahead of Israel in first-dose vaccination rate

On Tuesday, Brazil reported that 70.5 percent of its population have been vaccinated with at least one dose. With that, the country surpassed Israel, where 69.4 percent of the population has received at least one shot.

However, Israel remains ahead in terms of full vaccination, with 64 percent having received both shots, against 41.8 percent in Brazil. In addition, Israel — which was the first country in the world to offer a booster dose for adults in July — is already thinking about the possibility of a fourth dose for the population.

In Brazil, booster doses began being administered on September 15 and will now be extended to all seniors over 60 years old.
