Brazil adds over 300,000 new jobs in July

Brazil’s labor market recorded an added 316,580 formal jobs in July, continuing positive employment trends seen since January. So far this year, according to the General Register of Employed and Unemployed Persons (Caged), the country has created 1.85 million new jobs.

July’s figures were the result of 1,652,182 new hires and 1,339,602 dismissals. Once more, the services sector saw the largest increase in employment positions, with information, communication, finance, real estate, and administrative jobs being among the highlights. 

The sector has been responsible for the lion’s share of new jobs since February, with another 127,751 recorded in July.
