In a unanimous decision, the board of Brazil’s federal health regulator Anvisa suspended an exceptional and temporary authorization to import and distribute the Indian-made Covaxin vaccine.

The decision could be reversed if manufacturers produce “new information that allows [regulators] to conclude the legal and technical safety of the vaccine.”Indian lab Bharat Biotech voided its representation contract with Precisa Medicamentos, which is in the middle of a corruption scandal concerning the sale of Covaxin coronavirus vaccines.
