Health Ministry vaccine coordinator resigns

Francieli Fantinato, the coordinator of the Brazilian Health Ministry’s national immunization plan, has filed her resignation after coming under investigation in the Senate’s Covid-19 hearings committee.

Ms. Fantinato’s exit makes her the second Health Ministry official to leave the department within 24 hours, after revelations of a cash-for-vaccines scandal surfaced concerning deals to purchase AstraZeneca and Covaxin immunizers.
