SANTIAGO — Chilean pollsters have been prevented from publishing their findings since December 4, when a 14-day period of silence leading up to the election began. Earlier this week, however, political operatives circumvented the rules by leaking a recent Cadem poll to Peruvian newspaper La Republica.
The data showed far-right candidate José Antonio Kast gaining momentum and likely to overtake his left-wing opponent, Gabriel Boric. But new Cadem polls obtained by The Brazilian Report suggest Mr. Boric has reversed that trend.
