A new survey carried out by Facebook and the University of Maryland suggests that over 83 percent of Brazilians want to take a Covid-19 vaccine — despite President Jair Bolsonaro’s efforts to stir up skepticism around immunization.
The percentage is higher than neighboring countries such as Colombia or Argentina, where 76 and 74 percent of the people are willing to be vaccinated, respectively.
The study also shows that since vaccination began in Latin America, Brazilians have grown fonder of the idea. Back on December 21, the rate of Brazilians willing to inoculate themselves sat at 75 percent.
Brazil vaccinated 175,000 people on Monday, taking the total tally to almost 3.8 million since the first jabs were administered on January 17.
