A new opinion poll from Poder 360 shows that President Bolsonaro’s approval ratings have dropped by 4 percentage points since October 14, amid the fight with São Paulo Governor João Doria over mandatory Covid-19 vaccination rules.
According to Poder 360 data, 48 percent of Brazilians approve of the administration, while 42 percent have a negative view of the government – a 1 percentage point increase since the last poll. The survey consulted 2,500 people in 488 cities across the country, with a 2 percentage point margin of error.
The poll also shows that the president’s approval ratings are larger among lower-income populations, as 44 percent of citizens who earn up to twice the minimum wage classified his government as “good/great.” This phenomenon has been widely credited to the administration’s emergency aid program.
On the other hand, 68 percent of the wealthiest segment of the population sees him as “bad/terrible,” the highest disapproval rate among all income groups.
