According to the World Health Organization, the fact that 31 percent of Brazil’s Covid-19 tests have come back as positive suggests the country is underreporting its total number of coronavirus cases.

As noted by the executive director Michael Ryan, in countries that apply extensive testing, the rate of positive results amounts to around 5 percent.

According to newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, the WHO believes the pandemic may seem to have stabilized in the country, but that might be due to changes in reporting methodology.
