Vice President Hamilton Mourão issued a statement informing that his Covid-19 control test has come back negative, corroborating his original exam results. His wife, Paula Mourão, was also cleared. The VP had been in self-isolation since May 16 after a civil servant in his office was diagnosed with the coronavirus.

At least 24 people of the government’s top brass have tested positive. For two months, President Jair Bolsonaro refused to release his own test results, but was eventually forced to disclose them by a Supreme Court decision. The three tests he undertook — all under aliases — came back negative.
