Brazilian lawmakers will not have their traditional July recess as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The decision was confirmed by Senate President Davi Alcolumbre, after an agreement between party leaders. In March, after the beginning of the pandemic, Congress was forced into de facto recess until they could develop an online voting system. During that time, access to the grounds of the House of Representatives and Senate was restricted to accredited employees, members of the press, and people who were summoned to hearings committees before the declaration of the Covid-19 pandemic.
