Espírito Santo state creates sanitary checkpoints

Authorities in the southeastern state of Espírito Santo have created sanitary checkpoints in the metropolitan area of state capital Vitória. According to Governor Renato Casagrande, the goal is to raise awareness around how to prevent Covid-19 infections — as well as monitoring the health of drivers and passengers.

Within the first ten hours of operation, over 3,700 vehicles were inspected and 9,400 people had their temperature taken and were screened for Covid-19 symptoms.
