In Rio de Janeiro, three people infected with Covid-19 are being treated with antibodies extracted from individuals who have already recovered from the disease. The research is being conducted by the State Brain Institute (IEC), the Hemorio blood bank, and the Molecular Virology Laboratory of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

The project, coordinated by the State Health Department, will be expanded to another 20 people next week and then to another 80 in case of positive results. There are already more than 600 volunteers waiting to receive blood plasma from those who have already recovered from Covid-19.
