Brazil’s Health Minister to name Army general as his deputy

In his first press conference as Brazil’s Health Minister, Nelson Teich confirmed that Army General Eduardo Pazuello will be named as his deputy. The general previously coordinated Operation Shelter, a humanitarian task force responsible for receiving Venezuelan citizens who migrated to Brazil fleeing their country’s socio-economic collapse in recent years. Gen. Pazuello also worked as the Army’s logistics director during the 2016 Rio Olympics.
