São Paulo’s commerce and service companies association Fecomercio is requesting countermeasures to diminish the economic impacts of closing non-essential stores in São Paulo, in effect from March 20 to April 5.
Among the suggestions sent to Mayor Bruno Covas were a six-month extension for property tax payments, the possibility to pay back debts in installments, as well as suspending the payment of tax debts previously negotiated with the City Hall, without fees or interest.
The association believes the decision to allow deliveries will help companies and asked the municipal government to allow delivery vehicles to circulate inside the city at more flexible hours. Another possible measure, according to Fecomercio, would be to suspend the urban parking payment system Zona Azul.
