The Ibovespa stock market index is down 14.6 percent now. If losses reach 15 percent, trading will be suspended for one hour. Earlier today, the trading session stopped for 30 minutes after the index crashed 10 percent.

Since March 9, the São Paulo stock exchange registered six circuit breakers already, as markets collapse amid fears of the economic impacts caused by the Covid-19 spread. Right now, nobody really knows the full extent of the crisis.
